FOUNDING ASSEMBLY

Montenegrin National Committee of International Council on Large Electric Systems - CIGRE is independent, voluntary organisation dealing with national and international professional and scientific matters in the area of production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, manufacturing of electrical equipment and development of electric power systems.    

Montenegrin National Committee CIGRE - CG KO CIGRE was founded on Assembly from 29.03.2008 and it maintains continuity of all previous activities of Montenegrin part of JUKO CIGRE by the year 2007. Main office of this organisation is in Podgorica, Svetog Petra Cetinjskog Boulevard.  

On the founding Assembly of the Montenegrin National Committee CIGRE, that will constitute a part of the International Council on Large Electric Systems - CIGRE, Professor Dr Milutin Ostojić, was appointed as a Chairman of the Montenegrin National Committee CIGRE, and Mr. Vladimir Vujović, Advisor to EPCG Executive Director was appointed as a Deputy Chairman. On the founding Assembly a Decision on founding was made, the Statute adopted, the Management Board appointed as well as other working bodies necessary for efficient operation. 

Opening speech was made by Professor Dr Ilija Vujošević. The audience was addressed by the following speakers: Mr. Rusmir Mahmutćehajić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Mr. Aleksandar Šekerinski (Macedonia), Mr. Radomir Naumov (Serbia) and Mr. Krešimir Bakič (Slovenia). The audience was addressed by Mr. Branimir Gvozdenović, Minister for Economic Development of the Government of Montenegro,  Mr. Srđan Kovačević, Executive Director of EPCG, Mr. Zdravko Uskoković, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Montenegro and Mr. Lazar Ljubiša who had over a long period been Director General of EPCG and JUGEL. The mission of CIGRE is oriented towards the matters such as planning and operation of electric power systems, as well as to issues related to designing, construction and maintenance of high voltage equipment and substations. The focus of its interest are also protection, control, telecommunication equipment and information systems.

In accordance with the Statute of the International CIGRE and following the practice in other countries, Montenegro established its National Committee CIGRE which will, with its expertise and consultancy references, represent a significant support and a strong bond for activities of experts from economy and those from the University, gathered in 16 Study Committees. This will at the same time create a significant area for cooperation with National Committees CIGRE from neighbouring countries and with CIGRE Paris.
